Key Offseason Changes

🔄

Pete Fairbanks & Christopher Morel Acquired from Rays

Veteran closer brings save experience. Morel adds power bat with positional flexibility at 3B/OF.

🔄

Owen Caissie Acquired from Cubs

Top outfield prospect comes in Edward Cabrera trade. Young bat with significant upside joins rebuild.

🔄

Esteury Ruiz Acquired from Dodgers

Elite speed demon adds stolen base threat. 2023 SB leader (67) could spark offense from leadoff spot.

Edward Cabrera Traded to Cubs

Top rotation arm dealt for prospect haul. Miami believes pitching depth allows sell-high move.

Ryan Weathers Traded to Yankees

Left-handed starter sent to New York. Rotation still deep with young arms remaining.

Sandy Alcantara Comeback Watch

Former Cy Young winner looking to return to form after injury-plagued 2024-25. Huge upside if healthy.

Projected Starting Lineup

Order Position Player Notes
1 LF Esteury Ruiz Elite speed, 67 SBs in 2023
2 2B Connor Norby Young bat, contact-oriented
3 3B Christopher Morel Power bat, K-prone but upside
4 RF Owen Caissie Top prospect, power potential
5 DH Kyle Stowers Power-first corner bat
6 C Agustin Ramirez Young catcher, developing bat
7 CF Javier Sanoja Defensive CF, speed asset
8 1B Liam Hicks Young bat competing for role
9 SS Graham Pauley Defensive-first SS prospect

Projected Starting Rotation

Slot Pitcher Throws Notes
1 Eury Perez RHP Elite prospect, ace upside
2 Sandy Alcantara RHP Former Cy Young, comeback bid
3 Max Meyer RHP Former top prospect, developing
4 Valente Bellozo RHP Young arm, strikeout upside
5 Kyle Tyler RHP Competing for fifth spot

Bullpen & Closer Situation

Pete Fairbanks takes over as closer after being acquired from Tampa Bay. The veteran brings experience and elite strikeout stuff. The rest of the bullpen is young and developing, typical of a team still in rebuild mode. Fairbanks should rack up saves if healthy.

Role Pitcher Notes
CL Pete Fairbanks Elite closer, 100 mph heat
SU Calvin Faucher High-leverage depth
SU Anthony Bender Strikeout stuff, injury history
MID Tyler Phillips Swing-man role
MID Lake Bachar Young arm, developing
LR Cade Gibson Long relief, spot starts

Prop Betting Angles

Prop Angle Stolen Bases

Ruiz stole 67 bases in 2023. His nightly SB props are premium targets against poor-throwing catchers. Season SB total props could be massively undervalued if books set line in 40s. Over 50 SBs is very achievable for this speedster.

Prop Angle Strikeouts

The young ace has elite strikeout stuff. His K props should be aggressive targets in favorable matchups. As he develops, expect 7+ K games regularly. One of the best young arms in baseball with ace ceiling.

Prop Angle Under Play

The 2022 Cy Young winner's props will be severely deflated due to injury history. If Alcantara returns healthy, every stat prop is undervalued. Monitor spring training closely for health signals. Massive upside at discounted lines.

Prop Angle Home Runs

Morel has 30+ HR power but strikes out a ton. His over strikeout props are reliable almost nightly. HR props are boom-or-bust. Target K overs confidently, HR props selectively against soft-throwing lefties.

Prop Angle Strikeouts

With an established closer role, Fairbanks should accumulate saves. His strikeout props in save situations are attractive. Season save totals depend on team wins, but per-appearance K props offer consistent value.

Miami Prop Analysis

Miami's youth means volatility. Player props are harder to predict game-to-game. Focus on clear-cut matchups (speed vs. slow catchers, power vs. favorable parks) rather than daily grinding.
