May 5 Model Picks of Interest
| Model Pick | Model Angle | Fair / Playable Price Note | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| CWS @ LAA YRFI | Highest first-inning signal on this board, with a model YRFI probability around 64.8%. | Model fair price around -184. Needs current YRFI market verification before official-pick consideration. | Model pick of interest; not official |
| ATL @ SEA YRFI | Model YRFI probability around 61.9%, helped by Atlanta's top-order run environment. | Model fair price around -162. No exact verified sportsbook YRFI price was available from the configured feed. | Model pick of interest; not official |
| TOR @ TB YRFI | Model YRFI probability around 60.7%, with enough run expectation to monitor the first-inning market. | Model fair price around -154. Needs a current sportsbook number before it can become official. | Model pick of interest; not official |
| Jacob deGrom over 4.5 Ks if available | Model mean near 5.0 strikeouts, but the key condition is getting a 4.5 market line. | Do not force if the board is at 6.5 instead of 4.5. | Model pick of interest; not official |
| Shohei Ohtani over 4.5 Ks | Model mean near 5.1 strikeouts, making 4.5 the number of interest. | Needs current 4.5 line and playable price. Do not convert a different line into this pick. | Model pick of interest; not official |
| Framber Valdez over 3.5 Ks | Model mean around 4.2 strikeouts with over 3.5 clearing the internal threshold. | Needs a current 3.5 line and price check. Higher lines are a different bet. | Model pick of interest; not official |
| Sandy Alcantara over 3.5 Ks | Model mean around 4.0 strikeouts and a fair over price near -159 at 3.5. | Playable only if the market remains at 3.5 and the price is not overtaxed. | Model pick of interest; not official |
| Gavin Williams over 3.5 Ks | Model mean around 4.1 strikeouts with a fair over price near -154 at 3.5. | Needs current sportsbook confirmation before becoming official. | Model pick of interest; not official |
| Cristopher Sanchez over 3.5 Ks | Model mean around 4.2 strikeouts, less forceful than the top K names but still above the 3.5 marker. | Price sensitive. Watchlist unless 3.5 is available at a playable number. | Model pick of interest; not official |
First-Inning Props of Interest
The review starts with YRFI because the model directly outputs first-inning run probability. The model-side picks are CWS at LAA YRFI, ATL at SEA YRFI, and TOR at TB YRFI. CWS at LAA was the strongest of the three, followed by ATL at SEA and TOR at TB. The problem is not the model signal. The problem is verification. Without current YRFI prices, none of these can be posted as official MLBProps.com plays.
The practical threshold is straightforward: compare the current sportsbook price to the fair price above. If the sportsbook is far more expensive than the fair number, the edge is gone. If the market is missing or unverified, it stays off the official sheet.
Pitcher Strikeout Props of Interest
The pitcher strikeout model-side picks are Jacob deGrom over 4.5 Ks if available, Shohei Ohtani over 4.5 Ks, Framber Valdez over 3.5 Ks, Sandy Alcantara over 3.5 Ks, Gavin Williams over 3.5 Ks, and Cristopher Sanchez over 3.5 Ks.
The list is line-specific. Jacob deGrom and Shohei Ohtani are only useful to this card if the market gives 4.5 strikeouts. If the live board is sitting at 6.5, that is not the same prop and should not be treated as an official over 4.5 play.
Framber Valdez, Sandy Alcantara, Gavin Williams, and Cristopher Sanchez all made the watchlist at 3.5 strikeouts. That does not mean they are automatic bets. It means the model wants a price check at exactly that line, with discipline around juice.
How This Differs From the Official Picks Page
The official page is deliberately smaller. It is for plays where line, price, model probability, and staking are all confirmed. This article is the research layer: it explains what the model wanted to look at, what price would matter, and why a prop did or did not make the final card.
When live YRFI or pitcher strikeout prices are verified, only the top three playable props should move to today's picks. Everything else stays here.
